Chrissy Cabrera

Let me introduce a young lady that has been with us for several months………

It is my pleasure to introduce Chrissy Cabrera: Chrissy met Nicole at a karaoke party some months ago so Nicole invited her to come to a barbershop meeting. She has been very regular since.  (thank you Nicole)

Chrissy has always loved to sing. She grew up in Visalia and began singing Choir at Green Acres middle school and continued choir throughout high school. Don Campbell was her high school choir teacher, she said she learned so much from him. She started as an Alto as a freshman then worked her way up to a 1st soprano.  She has also sung in bands as a lead and background vocals. Singing Country is her favorite. Her favorite female country artist are Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, and Miranda Lambert.

She attended Redwood High School, COS and Westgate Community College (online school).

Chrissy finds barbershop singing challenging but she loves a challenge and is enjoying her time with us.  She caroled with us and really was blessed by that.

Chrissy has 4 children. 2 girls Jacqueline & Karisa and 2 boys Thomas and Nicholas. They are all grown. Daughter Karisa and son in law Mike gave her 2 grandchildren. Mason age 12 and Ava Marie age 10. She also has an 8-month-old Female German Shepherd. Her name is BeBe.

As she grew up in the 80's she was into 80's music. Then in the 90's started listening to Country music. Old and new country music.  She’s singing and learning Barbershop and has also expanded her taste in music to include Country, Pop, Rock, and Mexican.

Chrissy has worked full time for the Visalia Unified School District for 23 years and hopes to retire in a couple of years.  Her work with the district is in the Visual and Performing Arts Dept.  mostly working with the 4-6 grade Music Teachers.

I thank Chrissy for being the first to be interviewed and introduced to us all.  She will be a great asset to our chorus.    WELCOME CHRISSY CABRERA!
